Wide Receiver

Antonio Brown, Tyrell Williams, J.J. Nelson, Hunter Renfrow, Dwayne Harris, Keelan Doss (6)

The Oakland Raiders finished the 2018 NFL season with Jordy Nelson atop their depth chart at wide receiver, and very little else behind him. Going into the offseason, the Raiders brass knew that bolstering this position group would have to be a priority, and they certainly got better over the past two months.

First, the team traded two draft picks for Antonio Brown, the best wide receiver in football. Brown is a guaranteed 100 catches per season, and the Raiders did not stop there. They added two big-time threats in Tyrell Williams and J.J. Nelson via free agency, and during the 2019 NFL Draft, they made sure to get a legitimate slot receiver in Hunter Renfrow.

Looking at this position group as a whole, the Raiders are in much better shape in 2019, and this could be the most improved unit on the roster. As an undrafted free agent, Keelan Doss, an Alameda native, has a real chance to make the team, and I like him to surprise people this summer and earn a roster spot.

Dwayne Harris will be on the 53-man roster as the returner for the Raiders, and the team will also use him in spurts in the offense. Overall, this is a dangerous bunch, and it could lead to a monster season for Derek Carr.
