While the Raiders have pieced together their wide receiver corps through the first half of the season, they’re still lacking a game changer out on the perimeter. Having running back Josh Jacobs and newly extended tight end Darren Waller on the hook for years to come, the next move that makes the most sense is for Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock to take a deep dive into the incoming wide receiving draft class.

CeeDee Lamb fits the prototype of a pass catcher that Gruden could use in his offensive system. Lamb is an incredibly athletic pass catcher that checks most boxes. He’s very capable of winning the battle in contested catches as he displays good body control in all aspects of the game. He has decent speed, but isn’t considered to be a burner running downfield which has him depending on quick releases and physicality to win reps.

Lamb has been highly productive in college and there’s no indication that it won’t carry over into the NFL. He hauled in 1,158 yards and 11 touchdowns last season and is already on track to finish his 2019 season with an uptick in numbers as he already has 983 yards and 13 touchdowns through nine games.

Pros:

  • Bendy
  • Separation
  • Run after catch ability

Cons:

  • Slim frame
  • Average speed
  • Limited route running in college
