Cornerback

Javelin Guidry, Utah, Jr

  • Height: 5’9″
  • Weight: 191
  • 40-Yard Dash: 4.29 (1st)
  • Bench Press: 21 (3rd)

The only thing I can take away from Utah cornerback Javelin Guidry is that he is a smaller guy at 5 foot 9 inches, 191 pounds.  It’s not as freaky to see a man his size run that fast.  Nonetheless, with 4.29 speed, he is an absolute burner.

Guidry was the fastest defensive player clocked at the 2020 combine and second fastest player overall behind Henry Ruggs III (4.27). What’s more impressive than his speed might be his strength.  21 reps at 225 pounds for a little defensive back is eye popping. Strong and fast, just the way Al loved his players.

C.J. Henderson, Florida, Jr

  • Height: 6’1″
  • Weight: 204
  • 40-Yard Dash: 4.39 (3rd)
  • Bench Press: 20 (5th)
  • Vertical Jump: 37.5 (6th)
  • Broad Jump: 127.0 (9th)

Already in the conversation as the top cornerback in the draft not named Jeff Okudah, C.J. Henderson from Florida helped himself in a big way at the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine. This is a kid who can flat out cover, and after his combine, there is no question that he is one of the more athletic defensive backs in this draft class.

His height and weight are ideal for a corner in today’s NFL, throw in 4.3 speed and forget about it.  One area that scouts are critical of Henderson is with his tackling, but that should not hurt his draft status heading into April. He is going to be the second cornerback taken.
