Las Vegas Raiders X-Factors against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 7

Darren Waller

The worst kept secret this year for the Las Vegas Raiders is that Darren Waller is not only the top threat in the passing game, but one of the top tight ends in the NFL. We’ve seen how dangerous he can be with his 12 catch, 105 yards and one touchdown performance against the Saints.

We’ve also seen how much teams game plan around stopping him, as the Patriots successfully did only allowing two catches for nine yards.

Waller could very well have a favorable matchup this week against Tampa Bay. Outside of the Bucs stud linebacker Devin White, Waller is a mismatch nightmare for their older linebackers that will have a hard time keeping up with him. On top of that, their safeties have even more of a mismatch deficit just in pure size.

With Waller’s ability to create space in and out of his breaks, on top of his jump ball ability, the stud tight end could have a huge game this week if the Raiders are able to dial up some plays to scheme him open on the outside or find zone pockets over the middle.

There’s no doubt Waller acts as a big time safety blanket for Derek Carr and hopefully we’ll see another breakout performance that will rival his game against the Saints.
