2021 NFL Draft: Running backs the Las Vegas Raiders should target

Raiders 2021 running back draft targets: Trey Sermon, Ohio State

Trey Sermon wasn’t at Ohio State University for a long time, but he was certainly there for a good time. Sermon was at the University of Oklahoma until the 2020 season in which he played for the Buckeyes and broke out mainly toward the end of the season. He helped Ohio State not only make the College Football Playoff but played a key role in them pulling an upset against the sure-fire number one pick Trevor Lawrence and the Clemson Tigers.

Sermon showed some real promise toward the end of the season with the Buckeyes running the ball.  In the final three games of the season, before the national championship game against Alabama, Sermon had 636 of his 870 total yards.

Sermon for me is more of a fourth or fifth-round pick who would actually back up Devontae Booker for a season instead of being Jacobs’s direct backup.  If a player can rush for 600-plus yards in three games, he’s got to have something in the tank.
