Las Vegas Raiders at Denver Broncos: 3 Bold Predictions for Week 6
Las Vegas Raiders at Denver Broncos: 3 Bold Predictions for Week 6
Bold Prediction 2: Derek Carr Responds
Derek Carr has experienced quite the rollercoaster as the quarterback of the Raiders franchise over the past 8 years. He has gone from an MVP candidate to breaking his ankle and questioning his status as the franchise quarterback, to one of the most underrated players in the entire league.
And when he steps onto the field Sunday, he will be playing for his fifth head coach in a Raiders’ uniform.
That is not easy for any player, especially the supposed leader of the team. These specific circumstances are assumed even more difficult for Carr, considering his close relationship with Gruden. Like always, though, Carr will be expected to shut out the noise and play high-level football once kickoff occurs on Sunday.
Derek Carr, himself, has had a very similar start to the season as the Raiders have as a whole. He began the season as, arguably, the MVP frontrunner. The Raiders blew out of the gates, beginning the season 3-0 and Carr was leading the NFL in passing yards.
In the two contests since, however, Carr has thrown for just 196 and 206 yards and the Raiders have lost two games in a row. Now, all eyes will be on Carr this weekend as he attempts to bounce back from not only his back-to-back mediocre performances but also the turmoil that has plagued the franchise that he leads.
Expect Carr to do just that, as he will pick apart a struggling Broncos secondary for at least 300 yards and two touchdowns.
