Raiders free agent target – Daryl Williams, OT

Key 2021 Stats

  • 17 Regular Season Starts
  • 6 Total Penalties
  • 72.4 PFF Pass Blocking Grade

As it stands, the Raiders have Brandon Parker and Jermaine Eluemunor as their two right tackles. They could also decide to plug Alex Leatherwood back into that role as well. Another scenario is to pick up Daryl Williams, formerly of the Carolina Panthers and Buffalo Bills.

Though he’s also played at guard, the Raiders would likely benefit from his experience as a tackle. Per Pro Football Focus, Williams has been solid in pass blocking the last two seasons, earning 80.0 and 72.4 grades, respectively.

He’s shown flashes of brilliance at times, in both opening up running lanes and protecting his quarterback. Unfortunately, he’s also been susceptible to upper-tier pass rushers who leave him in the dust. Williams isn’t the perfect tackle, but he’s a solid one and could be a stop-gap solution for maybe two years depending on what the team is doing with Leatherwood.
