Raiders free agent target – J.C. Tretter, OL

2021 Key Stats

  • 16 Regular Season Starts
  • 4 Total Penalties
  • 83.7 PFF Pass Blocking Grade

J.C. Tretter has been the Cleveland Browns’ starting center since 2017 and was a stalwart in their unit but was cut this offseason due to financial reasons. A true leader (current NFLPA president) and a positive locker room presence, he’d be an instant upgrade over Andre James.

Another positive is that despite being 31, Tretter could feasibly have another three to four years as an upper-tier center.

The issue with trying to sign Tretter might be his cost, but considering the state of the Raiders’ offensive line, it’d be worth it. Along with being one of the best pass-blocking centers in the NFL for the last few years, Tretter has also been key in the Browns’ dominant rushing attack that accumulated 2,471 yards on the ground.
