Sunday marked the first padded practice session of the Oakland Raiders 2014 Training Camp in Napa and although things went smoothly when it came to injuries for the most part with players excited for contact for the first time this season, one notable offensive player did leave the field on Sunday afternoon.

Receiver Rod Streater, tapped by many to be the first Raiders receiver to break 1,000 yards since Randy Moss, went down after a play on his head and left practice. Dennis Allen said following practice that it “may” be a head injury but for now there is no official confirmation surrounding Streater’s status.
Streater is a key player for the Raiders offense heading into his third season with the team, but a potential head injury is less serious than a leg injury where Streater’s speed could be impacted before the season even begins. If Streater does have a potential concussion there is plenty of time for him to return to the fold even before the team’s first preseason game so panic surrounding the receiver’s status should be minimal for now. The only key player to leave the field on Sunday, hopefully Streater’s injury is very minimal and he can return soon to the practice field and especially for the team’s first preseason performance.
