In the midst of former head coaches attached to the Oakland Raiders head coaching search, some of the NFL’s coordinators looking to get their big break and first NFL job as an HC have entered the mix. Pep Hamilton has been contacted by the Raiders for an interview, as has Darrell Bevell of the Seahawks, but the most interesting coordinator looking for a head coaching job come his offseason might just be Todd Bowles of the Arizona Cardinals.

Bowles, who has transformed the Cardinals defense to one of the best in the league, is expected to be one of the biggest names in the 2015 offseason for head coaching interviews as Arizona coach Bruce Arians confirmed this week that every team in the league with a vacancy has contacted for a Bowles interview request.

Arians told Sirius XM NFL Radio that every team with a head coaching vacancy had asked for permission to speak with Bowles, who will interview for jobs next week. That means that the Raiders, who interviewed Bowles during their last head coaching search before settling on Dennis Allen, should be interviewing the defensive coordinator in early January.

Bowles should get an offer to become a head coach by one of the teams looking for one this offseason, but his lack of HC experience will always leave a question mark until he gets his first break in the league. That appears to be an inevitability as Bowles is highly sought after at the moment, the only question right now when it comes to the Raiders is if they will go for a coordinator mind like his or with a former head coach who is looking for another chance.
