Since the Raiders and Redskins play so rarely because they are in opposite conferences, let’s take a look at how they have done so far this season and what could lie ahead for them in the coming weeks.

Oakland is 2-0 with double digit wins over the Tennessee Titans and the New York Jets. Beating Tennessee in Nashville was great for the Raiders to build early momentum in the season.

That’s a playoff caliber team in Nashville for sure. Defeating the Jets is what a good team should do. Oakland has not looked this good out of the game in 15 years.

Washington is 1-1. Though they struggled at home versus the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1, that might be the best team in the NFC East.

The Redskins would go on the road and beat the Los Angeles Rams to get to 1-1. Los Angeles is 2-1 on the year, albeit with wins over winless teams in the Indianapolis Colts and the San Francisco 49ers.

Simply put, what the first two weeks have taught us about these two clubs is that the Raiders are good and the Redskins aren’t bad. We don’t know how good these Raiders will be in a few weeks, but they do look promising. Washington might be a tad better than what people expected to start the year, but we’ll see.
