The Oakland Raiders have arguably the best guard tandem in all of football, and Gabe Jackson is one half of their elite duo at the position.

During the 2014 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders selected Gabe Jackson from Mississippi State in the third round. Another coveted piece of that incredible draft class, Jackson became a starter as a rookie for the Raiders, and has not looked back ever since, playing in every game since being inserted into the starting lineup.

Regarded as one of the best interior lineman in the 2014 draft class, Jackson has not disappointed since putting on the Silver and Black. He signed a five-year extension with the team back in June of 2017, and is a big piece of the puzzle for head coach Jon Gruden and company moving forward.

2017 Season Review

It was another solid season for Jackson, who came very close to making his first ever appearance at the Pro Bowl. Though the Raiders struggled to a 6-10 season, Jackson was a very consistent player at the guard position, and for the opposition, it was nearly impossible to get the quarterback with him blocking you.

2018 Season Outlook

This could be the year Jackson finally makes it to the Pro Bowl, as many believe he should have been in there last season. He has really gotten the attention of the rest of the league, and teamed with Kelechi Osemele once again, the Raiders should be pounding the ball through the tackles in 2018.

Training Camp Projection

There won’t be too much to see when it comes to Gabe Jackson during training camp, as his spot on the roster, and in the starting lineup is written in concrete. He will continue to be an anchor on this offensive line, and the main focus will be to just keep him healthy through the summer months so he is ready to take on Aaron Donald and Ndamukong Suh in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Rams.
