The Raiders have a need at the linebacker position, whether it is on the outside, or in the middle. The middle linebacker position has been weak for some time now, and outside of the play of NaVorro Bowman during the 2017 NFL season, the issue in the middle of the defense has really hurt the team as a whole.

Enter Mack Wilson, a standout middle linebacker from Alabama, who has the potential to be a real team leader on the defensive side of the ball. Not only is he as sure a tackler as there is in this draft class, but he is also a guy who can really captain a defense, showing incredible football IQ during his time with the Crimson Tide.

If the first round worked out this way, not only would the Raiders bring in an incredible edge rusher, but also a standout safety, and a middle linebacker who could pilot this defense. When you add to the fact how Gareon Conley, Karl Joseph, and the rookies up front stepped up in 2018, this has the potential to be a vastly improved unit in 2019.
