Bryan Edwards will benefit from the addition of Davante Adams

Adams to help Edwards reach his potential

Derek Carr, himself, who of course played with Davante Adams in college, even went on the record saying that Edwards reminded him of Adams with his tremendous ball skills and aggressive route-running: “Bryan is a very violent route runner and that’s a good thing,” Carr said. “He’s very violent, he’s very aggressive in his cuts, he reminds me — when the ball is in the air — of Davante [Adams], great ball skills.”

While having Adams there to take attention away will certainly be helpful, it may be even more beneficial during practice and in meetings when Adams can pass knowledge along to Edwards. Because of the skills that both players share, as stated by Carr, Edwards can certainly learn a lot from Adams.

The 23-year-old has shown that he has the ability. As a member of the South Carolina Gamecocks, he has the most storied career of any wide receiver in the program’s history. Edwards ranks 1st all-time in both receiving yards and receptions, and he ranks 2nd all-time in receiving touchdowns. In the ultra-competitive SEC, these are quite impressive feats.

With the major addition of Adams, the opportunity will be there for the taking for Edwards. He has all the tools to be able to seize it. If he can, the Raiders’ offense will be even more dangerous than some are projecting.
