Just One Win Baby

AUTHOR: | IN: Gameday | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Here are a couple notes that I came up with for today’s win over the rival K.C. Chiefs.  Now keep in mind, I had to listen to the game over the Internet because I’m out on the East Coast for this holiday weekend, so I’ve yet to see any footage of the game.  The Oakland Raiders have not won a game against an AFC rival in 17 outings, but that all ended this afternoon.  Let me get this straight, the Chiefs were on the Raiders 23 yard line with only 04:26 left in the game (down by 3), and you chose [...]

History Shall Set Us Free

Okay, I’m so excited that the guys at Arrowhead Addict chose to re-release their Top 10 reasons it’s better to be a Chiefs fan.  Last time the Raiders and Chiefs met (early this season in Oakland) I was not able to find time to post my counter to their list that I was able to come up with.  After a few modifications, I think I’m ready to go.  But like I mentioned early in this week, no matter what any opposing fan says, or opposing team does (i.e. the Patriots), the Oakland Raiders still have a past that surpasses even a 17-57 [...]

Ten With Them: Arrowhead Addict

AUTHOR: | IN: NFL, Raiders | COMMENTS: None Yet

Adam from Arrowhead Addict stopped by to answer ten quickies about the Chiefs and Raiders… 1. How bad will the Michael Bennett trade affect the Chiefs chance of winning the division? Actually, I really always considered us longshots to win the division anyway. Kolby Smith is a more dependable, durable back, so that trade will have no bearing on the AFC West as long as he stays healthy. 2. Was giving Priest Holmes another chance/roster spot a mistake? No. He earned his spot and the chance to play. He’s done so much for the Chiefs that there was no way [...]

It Only Gets Worst

AUTHOR: | IN: Breaking News | COMMENTS: None Yet

I am one pissed off Raiders fan.  All season long there has been talk of how well first year head coach, Lane Kiffin, has run this team, but now I want him gone.  Today Coach Kiffin made roster moves that have made me more furious than any professional sports organization that I’ve ever rooted for.  In the ensuing notes you’ll find that Dominic Rhodes and LaMont Jordan were very close to being cut, Michael Bush is ready to play, and Robert Gallery is being moved around in a very disrespectful way. Here are the infuriating notes and quotes from Inside [...]

Tokyo Raiders

AUTHOR: | IN: Off-Topic/Other, Video | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

There are Oakland Raiders fans all over the world, and this clip shows a Raider fan that came all the way from Japan to watch the Raiders.  I remember USATODAY.com reporting during the Athens Olympics that the one weird thing that they kept seeing was people draped in Raiders’ gear.  Not just the Raiders’ Nation, but the Raiders’ World.  No matter how poorly the Raiders have played in the last 4 years, the success from the 40 years prior is too much for any fan to give up.  It does not matter how good the New England Patriots have played throughout [...]

Offsides??

AUTHOR: | IN: Gameday | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

The Oakland Raiders-Minnesota Vikings game ended only moments ago, but for the second week in a row, I did not watch the end of the game in real time.  Last week I looked at Rex Grossman’s game winning pass in slow motion over ten times, and could not find any reason for the refs not to call holding on Roberto Garza.  Warren Sapp would have sacked Grossman if it weren’t for Garza, and the Raiders most likely would have won the game.  Moments ago the referees officiating the Raiders-Vikings game called an offsides penalty on Tim Dwight with 12 seconds [...]

B-Ball with Morrison and Howard

Here’s a short clip by The Sports Action Team, featuring Thomas Howard and Kirk Morrison.  In a season filled with dissapointment for the Oakland Raiders, it’s nice to see these two guys smiling about something.

Offensive Notes & Quotes

AUTHOR: | IN: News, Raiders, Recaps | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Oakland Raiders offense continues to struggle to find a quarterback to lead them, a running back to depend on, and any form of consistency.  I’ve put together a collaboration of notes and quotes from one of the media members that I respect the most, and added my own input for contrast.  You’ll find everything from assorted views on last weeks Raiders-Bears game, updates on the Raiders quarterback carrousel, the weekly running back drama, and what it all means to Head Coach Lane Kiffin. If Josh McCown was a word in the dictionary, this is what the definition would be: [...]

New Ravens Site

AUTHOR: | IN: Off-Topic/Other | COMMENTS: None Yet

FSB would like to announce another in-depth fan-based website, and this one will be devoted to the Baltimore Ravens.  The Fan-Sided sites each have their own unique names, but I have to say, the new Ravens’ site has the best name yet: The Ebony Bird.  The name comes from Edgar Allen Poe’s The Raven.

Raiders coach Lane Kiffin hopes they’ll play Sunday, but just imagine if they don’t. Oakland went with seven cornerbacks on the 53-man roster this season, but Stanford Routt is the only proven commodity in the bunch. [...]
